"Kappa" is the collective name given to a group of precision tools first created by artisans in ancient Japan who were producing equipment for the laboratory scientists of the day. The advantage of the Kappa's design is their ability to firmly grasp glass vessels, making them easy to rotate. Their light weight and minimalist design made them popular not only with artisans and craftsman, but also with glass artists. |

As time passed however, the number of artisans with the knowledge and ability to produce the Kappa decreased and they had become exceedingly difficult objects to procure.
I myself sought these tools and after an arduous four years of trying to have them reproduced, in 2009 the Kappa were successfully revived.
The KAPPA is made from the same traditional Japanese smelting process which has been used throughout the ages to create tamahagane steel. The KAPPA we produce are handmade, our highly-skilled craftsman pay particular attention to the weight, balance, and ergonomic feel of each individual tool!
This product is available made to order, and will arrive 3-6 weeks from purchase date. A shipping fee has been included in the price of each tool.
Thank you.
